The Model Content Frameworks for Mathematics include
seven different components, each providing insight into the
standards for a particular grade level.  The components are:

  • Examples of Key Advances from the Previous Grade
  • Fluency Expectations or Examples of Culminating Standards
  • Examples of Major Within-Grade Dependencies
  • Examples of Opportunities for Connections among Standards, Clusters, or Domains
  • Examples of Opportunities for In-Depth Focus
  • Examples of Opportunities for Connecting Mathematical Content and Mathematical Practices
  • Content Emphasis by Cluster
  • ELA Content Frameworks

    The Model Content Framework for each grade level
    (grades 3–11) is divided into four sections: 
       1. Narrative Summary of the ELA Standards
       2. The Model Content Framework Chart
       3. Key Terms and Concepts
       4. Writing & Speaking & Listening Standards
           Progression Charts

    Each grade level consist of the following areas:

    For Reading and Writing in Each Module
    For Reading Foundation Skills in Each Module
    Writing Standards Progression from Grade 2 to Grade 3

    Spring 2014 release consists of Performance-Based Assessment tests in English Language Arts/Literacy and End-of-Year tests in mathematics.

    What's available:

    • Grades 3–11 Performance-Based Assessment tests for ELA
    • Grades 3–8 End-of-Year tests for mathematics
    • Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II End-of-Year tests for mathematics

    Notes about scoring:

    1. The spring 2014 release will not have scoring capability built into the tool. PARCC will provide answer keys and rubrics.
    2. The PARCC English Language Arts/Literacy summative assessments will include one prose constructed response item for each of the tasks that appears on the Performance-Based Assessment component. Teachers can score the three prose constructed responses by looking at the draft.
